Teeth Whitening
As teeth age they often become darker. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, food and tobacco. We can help restore your youthful smile.

Crowns
Crowns are placed to restore and protect broken, cracked or otherwise weak teeth. Crowns are usually made of porcelain bonded to metal. However, some crowns are made of gold or other metals and some are all porcelain. Our porcelain crowns are shaded to match the natural color of the other teeth.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Wisdom teeth usually are not an asset and in most patients they cause inflammation, which leads to soreness and swelling. In general, it is best to remove wisdom teeth before the inflammation occurs, before the teeth break the tissue as they erupt. The removal of wisdom teeth is done many times each week in our office with the use of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and local anesthetic. If a patient desires an IV sedation, it can be arranged. General anesthesia in the hospital can also be arranged by Dr. Young. Wisdom teeth can be classified as simple, soft tissue, partial bony, and complete bony extractions. The fee varies with the difficulty. We recommend early diagnosis and treatment, ideally in the patient's mid-teens.

Root Canal
Deep decay or fractures can cause the nerve to die in a tooth. An abscess then results and causes severe pain. Hot, cold, and pressure often make the symptoms worse. A root canal is a procedure which removes the dead nerve and allows the abscess and the symptoms to subside. The tooth remains in place. The root is still in the bone as an anchor for the tooth. Otherwise, the patient doesn't have any change in the teeth. A post and core build-up give additional strength to the brittle tooth which has had the nerve removed. A crown is usually recommended to protect the brittle tooth.
